To win a Pick 3 prize, you have to match all the numbers you have selected. If you’ve played a Straight, you must match them in the exact order. For Box plays, you can match them in any order. There are no prizes for matching fewer numbers, although the Fireball can come to your aid if it is a match for one of your selected numbers.
You win if your selected numbers are drawn exactly in that order. For example, if you pick 3-5-7 and the numbers are drawn as 3-5-7.
You win if your selected numbers are drawn in any order. As an example, if you pick 1-2-3 and the numbers drawn are 3-2-1, you are a winner. You can win a larger prize if you play a 3-Way Box – where two of the three numbers are the same, such as 1-1-2.
You win the full prize if your selected numbers appear in the same exact order, but just the Box portion if they are drawn in a different order. For example, if you play the numbers 9-9-0, you would win both parts of the prize if the winning line was 9-9-0, but just the Box prize if the numbers drawn were 0-9-9.
Similar to a Box play, you win a Combo if the numbers you have selected are drawn in any order. The difference here is that with a Combo you are actually submitting a series of Straight plays. For instance, if you submit the numbers 3-8-8, you are also playing 8-3-8 and 8-8-3, so you win if any of these combinations come up.
You win if the first two numbers drawn are the same as the two you have picked in that exact order. It does not matter what the final number is.
With a back pair, you have to match the second and third numbers exactly. For example, if you pick X-2-3, you win if the last two numbers are 2-3. You would not win if they were ordered X-3-2.

To claim a Pick 3 prize, all you need to do is visit a Florida Lottery retailer and you will be paid instantly. It is only prizes above $600 that need to be claimed differently, either by mail or in-person at a district lottery office, but all payouts in Pick 3 are below this threshold. You can still mail in tickets of any value if you prefer, by sending them in to your local lottery office or the Florida Lottery headquarters at 250 Marriott Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32301.
